Frequently Asked Questions

List of 10 frequently asked questions.

  • Can my child sign up even if s/he does not attend The Evergreen School?

Absolutely! The Summer Program is open to the community.
  • What's the difference between a "class" and a "day camp"?

In addition to a wide variety of summer enrichment classesmost of which are half-day, either morning or afternoonEvergreen also offers a traditional full-day camp option for elementary-age students (K-5). Day camp is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and there's a different fun theme each week!
  • Do you offer before- or after-camp care?

Yes. Check out our Extended Care details here.
  • Is there a waitlist? The class my child wants is full.

Yes! We encourage you to join the waitlist for any class. Simply sign up through our registration system. Spots may become available, or occasionally, we can even open a second week of a class if demand is high.
  • How long are classes and camps?

Classes and camps are one week long. (The one exception is our summer musical production class, which lasts for two consecutive weeks.)

  • Are field trips extra?

No, field trip fees are included in the cost of the class and/or camp.
  • Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

All classes and camps begin and end the day at The Evergreen School. Drop off your child in the main parking lot on Meridian Ave N. at 15201 Meridian Avenue  N., Shoreline, WA 98133.
  • How much does a class or day camp cost?

Classes and camp costs vary, based on hours and other considerations (travel for field trips, materials needed, etc.). Please see individual class descriptions for specific costs.
  • What are the times for classes and camps?

Classes: Most classes are either 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. Times are specified in each individual class description. (Children signed up for both a morning class and an afternoon class may stay for lunch in between. Please see our Extended Care information.)

Day Camp: Day camp and our junior leader program are 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Preschool: Preschool classes are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (PreK classes are either morning or afternoon, as in "Classes," above.)
  • What is your cancellation/refund policy? Can I transfer from one class or camp to another?

    Refund and Transfer Policy:

There are no refunds, except in the unusual case that The Evergreen School cancels a class or camp (due to a cause such as lack of enrollment). Those decisions will be made in late May.

However, transfers are possible. You may request a transfer into a different week of the Evergreen Summer Program (class or camp), space permitting. The request should be made at least two business days before the class or camp begins. To inquire about space availability/transferring, please email the Summer Program at summerprogram@evergreenschool.org. (No refunds will be given on transfers and any balances must be paid in full at the time of the transfer.)

If you’re requesting a refund due to extenuating circumstances, please contact Danielle Ladd, director of the summer program.
