Classes for Ages 5-14


From soccer and basketball to handball, fencing, jump rope and even Saber Academy, we offer a balanced variety of sports classes for summer fun! Our coaches foster a supportive environment, working with students at their own level to advance their skills. Sports help children build self-confidence and fitness, while offering valuable experience in teamwork, sportsmanship and competition. 
Sports Medley for Girls and Boys
Ages 5-6, June 17-21, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Ages 7-9, June 24-28, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Each day students will play a different sport, including soccer, basketball, flag football and more. We’ll introduce the fundamental skills and basic organization of the different sports. Join us for skill building and healthy game competition!
 
Beginning Saber Academy
Ages 10-14

Instructor: Shaye Whitmer
Learn the code, live the code! Hone your skills! Students will learn techniques to safely wield a saber. The mind, the body and the spirit will be challenged! Class lessons include meditation, yoga, fencing and some elements of parkour. As apprentices learn these skills to have a chance to be chosen by a knight, they must also design and build their own saber that will truly be theirs to keep. Small power tools and soldering techniques will be taught so students may craft their own personal saber.

Fencing
Age 10-14

Instructor: Shaye Whitmer- Both beginning and intermediate fencing students are welcome in this class. Students will learn modern fencing with foil, and returning students may elect to work with saber as well. Students will be actively learning the footwork, hand work, and blade work in a safe environment. Fencing helps to improve coordination and reflexes. The sport introduces an element of strategy and athleticism that will aid the student in a holistic view of health.

Volleyball
Ages 9-11

Students will learn the basics of volleyball, including passing, setting, hitting and serving. Classes will conclude with short scrimmages in order for students to learn the general flow of the game. Both beginning and advanced players welcome.

World Sports and Games
Ages 9-12

Students will be discussing, learning and playing different sports and games that are popular in other parts of the world. They’ll be exposed to table tennis, handball, bocce ball and more. Children will be physically active all week while learning these popular sporting traditions from other countries.

Beginning and Advanced Inline Skating
Ages 6-10

Instructors of Skate Journeys
Students will learn the basic foundation of skate moves, including striding, stopping and turning. Additional skills taught include "rules of the road," how to fall properly, and various tricks. Skate Journeys provides the correct size SEBA skates for each child plus all the protective gear (except for helmets); please provide your child with a helmet. No previous skating experience necessary. A parent-signed waiver form will be required for your child to participate in this class.

Pillow Polo and Team Handball
Ages 9-12

Learn pillow polo and handball! These are fun versions of two popular Olympic sports. Pillow polo is a nerf-sticks/nerf-ball game similar to hockey, while handball is the youth version of this Olympic sport that is very popular in Europe. Handball is a "hands-only” version of indoor soccer or as some say, "water polo without water." Be ready for plenty of skills practice, team play and fun all week!

Parkour Kids
Ages 7-10, July 22-26, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Instructors of Kong Academy
For our younger students, it’s all about introducing them to the sport, encouraging confidence with movement, and having fun; focus is on development of these early motor skills. Older students will also use blocks and bars to learn the fundamentals of the sport. Students will be running, jumping, vaulting, climbing, swinging, rolling and working on safe ground movements, all in a safe, supportive environment.

Beginning and Advanced Skateboarding

Students will learn the basic moves of skateboarding, including safety, balance and fun. They will progress onto a launch ramp as they're ready. Skateboards and safety gear are provided for your child to use for the week (except for helmets); please provide your child with a helmet. Flag Football for Girls and Boys

Games People Play

Instructor: Jeff Lageson- Playground games are physically and mentally challenging and support social skills and conflict resolution. These games are also excellent in supporting healthy growth of endurance and dexterity. We’ll be introducing new games as well as playing some of our old-time favorites. Most of the games are cooperative in nature, but there may be a few where light competition is encouraged.

T-Ball for Girls and Boys

Pickleball

This week we will experience the fun and joy of pickleball, a sport that combines the likes of tennis and ping-pong. We will begin by developing the foundational skills of the sport, and really get into the swing of things as we progress towards singles and doubles matches. This camp will involve some drills, a lot of games, and keep everyone physically active!
