Day Hiking Basics
Leader: Steven Foster
Grades: Rising 5th to Rising 8th
9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
There’s no better way to spend summer days than hiking in and around our beautiful Seattle! These low-key day hikes are perfect for the young and beginner hiking enthusiast. This camp is designed to teach the value of hiking while enjoying the outdoors. Each morning we'll head out for a hike with plenty of rest stops, nature education, and fun along the way. Children should bring a comfortable backpack to sufficiently carry their lunch and water bottle. They must also have sturdy tie-up sneakers or hiking boots. We'll be visiting parks with beach access, so plan to get a little wet and dirty each day!

2-in-1 Summer Fun: Machine Sewing and Hand Sewing
Instructors of Chelsea Cook’s Little Hands Creations
Grades: Rising 1st to Rising 5th
9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Students are invited to learn a skill they will use for a lifetime and a hobby they will forever enjoy … sewing! No experience necessary; appropriate for students with either beginning or more advanced sewing skills. New students will learn the basics of hand sewing, weaving and crafting. We’ll also cover machine sewing, including safety and beginner techniques. The more experienced students will have the opportunity to expand on their skills in both hand sewing and machine sewing. The class will begin with a simple project and then students will advance at their own pace to more exciting and challenging projects throughout the week. Many fun and different patterns are presented. Please note: For new students, attending on Monday (the first day of class) is mandatory, as that is when they will learn how to use the machines and discuss important safety tips.

Come join us for a week of spectacular adventure into a world of calculating wizards, indomitable warriors, verdant woods, and of course, sprawling dungeons and ancient dragons. In this class, students will learn how to play 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons. Also known as D&D, Dungeons & Dragons is a tabletop role-playing game where the players take on the role of a character of their design. These characters are a part of the world that a storyteller, also known as a Dungeon Master, creates. By the end of the week students will have made their own characters, played an adventure, and defeated the evil of the realm! No experience with the game required; this is an entry-level D&D class.
