  • Animal Architects Using Lego (Ages 5-7)

    Students will be inspired by the natural innovation and engineering of the animal world using tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! We’re designing and building leaping dolphins, buzzing beehives, and towering giraffes. We’re applying real-world mechanical engineering concepts to design, build, and explore our craziest ideas.     There are many lifelong benefits to learning and doing crafts, but this week, our number one goal is for the children to enjoy themselves! We'll be creating art using all different kinds of materials, such as watercolor, paint, glue, string, yarn, ribbon, beads, and more. We will be making woven wall hangings and baskets, watercolor yarn art, ribbon bookmarks, and different kinds of jewelry. This week children will be very busy expanding their minds and learning new hand-crafting skills to support them for a lifetime.
  • Games People Play (Ages 7-10)

    Playground games are physically and mentally challenging and support social skills and conflict resolution. These games are also excellent in supporting healthy growth of endurance and dexterity. We’ll be introducing new games as well as playing some of our old-time favorites. Most of the games are cooperative in nature, but there may be a few where light competition is encouraged.
  • Math Fun! (Ages 8-10)

    In this class, you will have the chance to think and experiment like a mathematician—through playful art that leads to discovery. A lot of us think of mathematicians as people who calculate and memorize facts, but actually, most mathematicians play, come up with interesting questions, and investigate possible solutions. In this course we will be mathematicians experimenting through various art mediums and creative projects. Let's find joy and fun in playing with math!
  • Hip Hop Dance (Ages 8-12)

    Join us for a fun week learning about the dance of hip hop! Two parts hip hop, one part modern dance, one part martial arts, then add some popular music, shake it up in the summer heat, and make a stunning dance piece incorporating all these different genres! A great class for those new to hip hop or for dancers wanting to learn new steps. Students should wear sneakers and comfortable clothing each day.
  • Vision Boards (Ages 10-12)

    A vision board, also known as a dream board, is a personal collage of affirmations, images, and pictures of what the creator dreams to do one day. Students will spend a creative, mindful, insightful and relaxing week learning more about themselves by reflecting on who they are, what they are passionate about, how they relate to others, and how they can achieve future goals. The week will include lots of journaling, creating an action plan, self-portraits, and end with the vision board.
  • Fencing (Ages 10-14)

    Students will learn modern fencing with foil, and returning students may elect to work with saber as well. Students will actively learn fencing footwork, hand work, and blade work in a safe environment. Fencing helps to improve coordination and reflexes, and the sport introduces an element of strategy and athleticism that will aid students in a holistic view of health. Both beginning and intermediate fencing students welcome.
  • Ancient Egypt and Greece: Mythology, Culture, and Life (Ages 10-14)

    We'll spend this week exploring the beautiful and fascinating cultures of ancient Greece and Egypt through storytelling, crafts and foods. Students will delve into famous mythological stories to understand the value of storytelling, and create their own stories with wise lessons. They'll also create crafts, like painted sarcophagi, name cartouches, and miniature Greek buildings. To finish off the course, we'll be cooking some traditional foods of Egypt and Greece to celebrate our learning and reflecting on the shared humanity we have with these ancient cultures.

    Children who have had previous chess instruction may enroll in this intermediate-level class. Tactical skills and middle-game strategies will be emphasized as students build upon their opening knowledge and individual styles. A training tournament will be conducted each afternoon, enabling students to join theory with practice. Chess makes learning fun!
  • Musical Theater Short & Sweet: Willy Wonka! (Ages 7-10)

    New this summer for this age range! For the aspiring young performer who loves music and storytelling, don’t miss this awesome opportunity to explore the musical adventure of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka. Using their bodies, voices and imaginations, students will bring to life the magical story of five children trying to win a contest held by the most mysterious candy manufacturer in the world. Students will develop skills in singing, acting and dancing while rehearsing delightful songs and staging scenes. On the last day, family and friends will get a taste of the week in a short and sweet performance.
  • Introductory Rock Climbing (Ages 9-12)

    This class offers a thorough introduction to the sport of rock climbing. Students will learn the proper techniques, form and safety skills necessary for top-rope climbing and bouldering, including how to tie knots and use equipment properly. We will spend much of our time at a local climbing gym; equipment is provided. Students should bring a lunch and water bottle each day, wear comfortable clothing, and be ready to have fun!
  • Scenes and Songs from Wicked (Ages 10-14)

    Calling all musical theater students! Come build your skills as an actor, singer and dancer in this intensive and fun class exploring scenes and songs from the Broadway smash hit Wicked. The story of what happened before Dorothy arrived in the Land of Oz, the story focuses on two witches who attend the same sorcery school and form an unlikely friendship. There's nothing like dancing through life and singing the best songs from Wicked, like "What Is This Feeling" and "Popular." Students will even learn how to approach that high note in the song "Defying Gravity." This week, we’re bringing to life the colorful, big-hearted and funny cast of characters from the Land of Oz!

    Ahoy, mateys! Take the plunge and dive into the deep seas of your imagination in search of buried treasure in this early drama class. Activities include discovering a long-lost map to unknown worlds and meeting colorful characters aboard the ship Adventure. Students will learn to act out a story using their bodies and voices while building skills in teamwork and taking turns. Other fun activities include playing games, reading stories about pirates, mermaids, and lost treasure, and creating craft projects. On the final day, students will act out a story for friends and family.
  • Wizarding World of Magical Engineering Using Lego (Ages 5-7)

    Students will use MakeCode Arcade to build retro-style games with block-based coding. MakeCode Arcade sports a full-featured JavaScript editor with code snippets, tooltips, and error detection.     Express your passions through painting on stones in this very hands-on art class. Students will have the opportunity to plan out their designs and then paint their own rocks, inspired by their interests. The group will learn about techniques for rock painting as a hobby, and many colorful and meaningful rocks will be painted, plus they’ll make a gift rock for a special person in their life. Students are encouraged to be creative, appropriate, and thoughtful with their designs. Rock painting contributes to artistic mindfulness as well as strengthening fine motor painting. Students take the time to be reflective in a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere.
